Bill has been ministering with Ruby in Southern Gospel Music throughout the Southeastern United States for over 17 years. He was first instrumental in assisting Ruby with her first recording, released in 1993 titled "Going Home"; the project was dedicated to the memory of Ruby’s dear mother, Marie Jeter Small. Just before "Going Home" was released, Mrs. Small was stricken with cancer and had only heard five of the songs that were to be on this project. While in her last moments at a Pensacola Hospital, she said, “I want to go home”. We all thought she meant her home in Alabama. No, she said, “I want to go to my Heavenly Home.” It wasn’t but a few days, and her wish came true. Therefore, the name of Ruby’s Album was titled “Going Home”. Her mother's encouragement for this project and love for music has become one of the driving factors in Ruby's life and was one of the things that brought her to this Singing Ministry.
Bill has learned over the years how to live in the all-sufficient Grace of the Lord through the various valleys and mountaintops of life. The Lord has graciously and lovingly helped him through the years and has given him many precious promises from His Word to share with others who have also gone through the rough and dark valleys of life.
Over the years, the Lord has allowed Bill to be a part of spreading the Gospel in many different churches in the Southeast. In 2000 Ruby & Bill toured the Navajo Indian Reservation in Arizona and New Mexico for two weeks singing and ministering in three different Churches. The highlight of the tour was after a Sunday morning message and mini concert, with an alter call; Ruby was instrumental in sharing Jesus with a young Navajo girl and leading her to a saving knowledge.
Bill's desire is to be instrumental in ministering with music and word in any local church that will open its doors to the ministry. Bill, Ruby and Tri-Star Ministries claim the Prayer of Jabez (I Chronicles, 4:10) for expanding its territory and opening up the doors to minister wherever the Lord leads.
I Chronicles, 4:10, And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, "Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me"! And God granted him that which he requested.
