God's Will For Your Life

What Does It Mean To Be Saved?

The word saved can have varied meanings. Rescue, salvage, deliver, extricate, free, release, liberate, emancipate, ransom. See what we mean…

In the church world the word saved means all of those, but also means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He knows us personally, one on one, and we in turn know Him. A personal contact so to speak when petitioning the Father, (God) in our time of prayer and praise.

In the Holy Bible, John 14:6, Jesus said unto him, "I am the way, the truth, the life; no man/woman cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Jesus came to this earth as a man. He didn’t have to, he chose to. He chose to come, to lay down his life on the cross of Calvary. He put aside his royal position to walk among us, to be with us. He came to rescue us from the path the world (satan) was and is taking. To free us from the bondage that had been placed upon us by the evil in the world. He paid the ransom for us by dying on the cross, but that was not the end. You see, Jesus arose from the grave. A living, breathing being! Once again he walked and talked! Can you tell of any other man who has done such as this? Can you tell of any other "prophet" or religious leader who did such as this? But wait, there is still more! Not only did he rise from the grave, but also he ascended into the heavens with a promise, that HE WOULD COME BACK FOR US! He is coming back, and when he comes he will come for us to take us who have had a personal relationship, those who are saved (forgiven), to live in the New Heaven and the New Earth with Him. Once again, man/woman shall be able to have a presence with God, but the only way is the salvation of man given by Jesus Christ. Without that salvation by Jesus Christ being accepted by you, you will be eternally separated from God and remain in the folly of those awaiting the last judgement. God will examine the Books.

Revelation 20; 14-15

14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

What Must I Do To Be Saved?

The hard part is over…Jesus did that one for us on the cross! It is very simple actually and here is God’s Plan of Salvation.

  1. IT IS A FACT THAT GOD LOVES YOU
  2. John 3:16, For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believed in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

  3. IT IS A FACT THAT YOU ARE A SINNER
  4. Romans 3:23 For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

  5. IT IS A FACT THAT YOU ARE NOW DEAD IN SIN
  6. Romans 6:23, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

  7. IT IS A FACT THAT CHRIST DIED FOR YOU
  8. Romans 5:6-8

6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.

7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.

8 But God commandeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

  9. IT IS A FACT THAT YOU CAN BE SAVED BY FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

Acts 16:30,31

30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thine house.

Romans 10:9-13

9 That if thou shalt confess with thou mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek; for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

6. IT IS A FACT THAT YOU CAN SAVED AND KNOW IT

1 John 5:10-13

10 He that believed on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

  1. And this is the record that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
  2. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
  3. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

  1. IT IS A FACT THAT YOU ARE NOW A CHILD OF GOD AND YOU ARE TO OBEY HIM

Acts 5:29, Then peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

When you confess something, you speak the truth. So many times man has been guilty of speaking things from the mouth that are not true statements and it gets them deeper and deeper into situations. When we speak the truth however, the path seems to b brighter, not always easier mind you, but brighter. We can walk with more assurance in the direction life carries us. When we know something to be true, our hearts are in tune with the mind causing us to walk more steadily in our beliefs. In this situation, we must walk in the belief and knowledge that God was the one who enabled and gave the power unto Jesus to be returned from the dead and not man. Note in that belief and think that just a few days before the trials of Jesus and his death, He raised a man from the dead (Lazarus), and if God provided the power of raising Jesus from the grave, then Jesus was and is more than a man! No matter who you are of what walk in life you come from, the salvation as given and offered by Jesus is yours. It is not for a select group of people, but you become part of a select group! Any one can be saved! Are you? If not, or if you are not sure of your relationship with Christ today, please, pray this prayer…………

Dear God, I know that Jesus is Your Son, and that He died on the cross and was raised from the dead. I know I have sinned and need forgiveness. I am willing to turn from my sins and receive Jesus in my heart as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus’ name. Amen

Welcome to the family of God. You have just made the most important decision of your life. You can be sure you are saved and have eternal life.

God keeps his promises. Acts 3:19, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10

God heard your prayer. Romans 10:13

God recorded your commitment. Luke 10:20

The Next step is you will need to grow as a Christian. The Bible calls new Christians ‘babes in Christ’ (1 Cor. 3:1). The church is to a new Christian what the home and family are to a new baby. You identify with your new family by confessing Jesus publicly and by experiencing believer’s baptism. "Then they that gladly received His Word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls" (Acts 2:41). Attend church Sunday and share with the pastor that you desire to be baptized and become a member of the local church.

Praying is to the spiritual life what breathing is to the physical life. Breathing must be regular and continuous. The Bible says, "Pray without ceasing" (1 Thess. 5:17). Learn to be specific in your praying. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

God’s Word is to a new Christian what good food is to a new baby. Good food is a daily requirement for proper growth. "As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow" (1 Peter 2:2).

Learning to witness is to a new Christian what learning to talk is to a new baby. Christ commands us to share the good news with others. "Ye shall be witnesses" (Acts 1:8). Tell others what you have experienced in your life and help them to come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior. All around us is our mission field, John 4:35A-36, Jesus is saying, behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. 36, And he that reapeth receiveth wages, and gathereth fruit unto life eternal: that both he that soweth and he that reapeth may rejoice together.

If you have made a confession of your sins and asked Jesus Christ to forgive you and come into your heart, email us and give us your name and the date that you received Christ as Savior.
